Chief Executive Officer
As the CEO of GPS Insight, Gary brings 25 years of experience in strategy, IT architecture, mergers and acquisitions, and operations. With a strong technology background, he loves the challenge of finding solutions to difficult problems and is passionate about empowering his employees and putting them in a position to succeed at their current job, while also helping them to grow professionally.
Gary spent over 20 years of his career at General Electric, learning from almost every type of business from large to small. His strategic insight allowed him to work on billion-dollar merger and acquisition transactions, and the development of the corporate technology roadmap. Along the way he learned the biggest differentiator between success and failure was leadership. Gary holds a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University.
Away from work, he loves to travel, and he recently visited his 50th state, and nearly as many countries. He lives in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife and family.
President
David brings a wealth of commercial and general management experience from around the globe to GPSI, particularly in software and telecoms.
He was most recently with UK-based Hill & Smith PLC, where he led the transport safety infrastructure division. Before that he was on the executive team at VC-backed Sitetracker, a SaaS solution for the deployment of high-volume assets such as telecom towers and EV charging stations. David grew the EMEA/APAC business from zero to a significant part of total company revenues over a four-year period. He also spent several years at Trimble and Ericsson, running multiple businesses and sales organisations in different parts of the world. At Trimble he led the APAC fleet telematics business, expanding from a small unit in Australia to a multi-country operation focused on emerging markets solutions.
David is married to Simone, who’s from Germany, and they have two young sons. The family lives in Boulder, Colorado having moved from London, UK in mid 2022.
Chief Operating Officer
Jerry is Chief Operating Officer, where he delivers operational targets through efficiency improvements, while strengthening process controls and increasing client satisfaction. Currently, he oversees all facets of operations, including the leadership and coordination of business development, fulfillment, installations, customer support, and the overall responsibility for achievement of operational goals.
He has spent over 25 years in operations, helping startups become the leaders of their industries. Prior to joining GPS Insight, Jerry worked in the architecture, logistics, and ecommerce industries, helping companies leverage technology to create positive change, efficiency, and increased profitability. Jerry holds an Associate Degree in Architectural Drafting and Architectural CAD/CADD from PIT Phoenix Institute of Technology.
Originally from Oregon, Jerry is married with four children.
Chief Product Officer
As Chief Product Officer, Shay Demmons and team are focused on solving key issues and delivering customer-centric solutions for companies operating on the road and in the field. Shay oversees product strategy and development and is responsible for driving innovation—from initial concept to the end goal of delivering value to our customers.
Shay has experience across diverse roles and product areas, with companies ranging from startups to the Fortune 50. Most recently, Shay was the General Manager of the BASELAYER RunSmart software division where he was responsible for running all aspects including sales, marketing, development, and customer service. Shay holds a Bachelor of Science from Arizona State University and a Master of Business Administration from Babson College.
Originally from Maine, Shay enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys which mostly seems to include baseball these days—go RedSox!
Chief Financial Officer
As the Chief Financial Officer, Franklin is facilitating the company's growth by engaging top finance and accounting talent and partnering with the leadership team to align growth goals and investment to maximize value. He has done this over his career both with and without private equity sponsorship.
His previous experience includes senior financial leadership roles in the telecommunications, wireless, media, and technology spaces with industry leaders like Sprint PCS, Cox Communications, ADify, and SheMedia. He has a proven record of driving excellence in finance and business operations while accelerating business performance. Franklin holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from California State University and a Master of Business Administration from Arizona State University.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf.
Chief Marketing Officer
Ritu brings 20+ years of expertise in SaaS, product portfolio and partner marketing, budget administration, key account development, customer acquisition, performance management, and demand generation. She manages marketing across the portfolio companies of GPS Insight.
Ritu is highly analytical and results-driven while embracing innovation at the same time. Her goal is to coach, lead, and motivate team members to do things they are enthused about so they can become great at what they do.
Early in her career, she lived around the USA and India before eventually making her way to Arizona to be closer to her daughter (who graduates from Arizona State University in 2023). She has held marketing leadership roles with Microsoft and Adobe stateside as well as their Indian counterparts overseas. Most recently, she had been working with private-equity-funded SaaS companies leading marketing and demand generation.
Ritu grew up in New Delhi, India, and has an MBA in Business from the Cox School of Business, Southern Methodist University, Dallas.
Chief Sales Officer
Dave Staples is Chief Sales Officer of GPS Insight, and he leads the small business, government, and mid-market sales teams.
Dave has been working in the telematics industry for 12 years, and he brings a blend of operations and sales leadership experience from his entire career. He prioritizes teaming and communications with partner departments, and he creates a culture of team wins.
He focuses on being genuine and having integrity in all that he does. He finds the most rewarding part of his career is helping individual contributors, teams, and developing leaders be successful. His objective is for people to become the best version of themselves and reach their goals.
He lives in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife and three dogs, and their four grown children currently live in Ohio. In their free time, they love going on motorcycle trips and taking their UTV on the trails.
