GPS Insight has successfully provided telematics for your vehicles, which puts us in the best position to enhance your services and ensure a smooth video telematics implementation. We know your team, and your team knows us. In short, you’ll combine a proven camera, a proven telematics system, and a proven provider.
Here are a few key points to consider:
There’s nothing like a real-world test of emerging technology to see how it can impact your business challenges. With the Driver•i smart camera, the results can be dramatic.
Let’s recap what Driver•i can do and then review highlights from your recent pilot. You’ll see how the combination of your GPSI-5000 tracking devices and the power of Driver•i can make safety one of your fleet’s strengths.

One of the key capabilities of Driver•i is the ability to let employees coach themselves behind the wheel. To recap, that self-coaching takes two forms: A) an app that automatically detects trends in problematic behavior and pushes it to drivers for review and; B) audible in-cab alerts.
The audible in-cab alerts are effective for behavior modification. No driver wants to hear the audible signals of their unsafe driving.
The behaviors that trigger the audible warning – Unsafe Following Distance, Driver Distraction, and Speeding Violation – are some of the habits most-likely to lead to accidents. Driver•i addresses these in the cab with no manager intervention.
Driver•i scores every driver, deducting points for unsafe events while also awarding bonuses for safe, courteous driving. Improvements in your employees’ scores makes it far more likely that your fleet will come in below the average 20% fleet vehicle accident rate.
These scores directly correlate to a reduction in at-fault accidents.
One GPS Insight client saw an 83.3% reduction in at-fault accidents when they improved their fleet average driver scores from the 400s to the 700s.
Based on the average cost of a fleet vehicle accident estimated at $70,000, that may have saved our client as much as $1.75 million in costs.

Over the course of 90 days, Driver•i rode along aboard 25 vehicles and 19 drivers.
The system automatically analyzed 216,140 minutes, providing full visibility into driver behavior and adding context to insights generated by the conventional telematics system. Drivers knew the camera was monitoring their actions. Even with that knowledge, they still had driving violations.
This brings up a question – how did they drive without cameras on them every day? Still, the improvement is noticeable. Here are some highlights from the final pilot results.
