GPS Insight Supports Convoy for a Cure With Live Mapping
West Side Transport, a valued GPS Insight customer, has a unique story to tell:
The company—ownership and employees together—saw a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the fight against cancer by creating awareness and generating money toward finding a cure. After six months of painstaking effort through teamwork and personal donations, employees of West Side Transport raised over $31,000 to buy a brand new 2017 Wabash trailer that would be wrapped in pink to increase cancer awareness. Not only would this new pink trailer generate awareness, but a portion of the revenue the trailer generates over its 12-year expected lifecycle will be donated toward finding the cure. West Side Transport calls it the “Convoy for a Cure,” and with help from GPS Insight, you can track its progress from a live map on their website.
GPS Insight provides a small bit of code to easily embed an HTML map on a website. Typically this live mapping functionality, called Customer Sites, is used to provide your customers, who do not have access to the GPS Insight portal, with an embedded map for live vehicle and trailer tracking. A common example of this functionality is a delivery company providing a customer of theirs with this type of map so they can follow their delivery. West Side Transport has added an incredibly unique spin on the use case for this type of live mapping functionality and deserves recognition for their forward-thinking efforts.
Follow the Convoy for a Cure and continue the fight for all of those in our lives affected by this disease.
